Divergent Movie Review

Myself (Kate) and Catherine saw an advanced showing of Divergent last Thursday, March 20th.  We're both going to state our reviews in this one post.... You'll see how it works.

Kate:

When the cast list first came out, I did not like it all that much.  I thought Shailene was a good choice, and I did see her as Tris.  Theo James, however, I did not like as Four. Sorry Theo! He just isn't how I pictured him.  I saw a tall, extremely thin man, with black hair, bright blue eyes, and pale skin. I also didn't like how they changed the ages around and the characters became older..... yeah. Anyways, here is what I thought of the movie:

I. Loved. It.  I came in expecting a really bad movie, because of the reviews it was getting, which were really bad.  I feel like it really did portray the story very well, and would make the characters very proud haha.  It had the main parts, although it didn't show some scenes.  But, I will go see it again, and can't wait for Insurgent! The actors WERE the characters, Theo James WAS Four and Shalilene WAS Tris. 

Catherine: 

In many aspects, I agree with Kate.  When the cast list was originally coming out I was a bit skeptical.  I believed that Shailene Woodley could portray the role of Beatrice Prior.  Theo James on the other hand... he's hot.  A very hot man, with not much background in the acting industry.  As soon as Comic Con came around and I saw the chemistry between the two of them, I gained a bit of faith.  After the movie, I was in aw.  My overall feelings for the movie:

I loved it.  It was a great book to movie adaptation, coming in a close second behind Catching Fire. (ugh that was perfection)  I can't wait another year for Insurgent!  Although I am a bit disappointed that the director won't be Neil Burger, I can't wait.  Great things come from the second director in a large YA Franchise, *cough cough* The Hunger Games franchise *cough cough.*

Introduction- Kate

Hello! I'm Kate, the other half of teardrop jar.  Catherine and I actually met over the internet, and then, it turns out, we went to the same school and happen to have three classes together..... yeah.  Catherine made her post very short, but I tend to write a lot, so I'll try to make this a short introduction.  I guess I'll tell a bit about myself.  I like to read (A lot... my obsession is pretty bad), write, listen to, and discover, new music, obsess over lovely fictional boys and bands, watch Youtube and I'm deeply in love with photography.  My favorite time periods are the 1800's and 1920's, so I do very much like to talk as if I lived there, and act like I do *Chuckles uncomfortably*.   I also like to blog, talk, complain, and make extremely unfunny jokes.  I'm also extremely against physical activity and would much rather sit in bed with a book in my lap and my music blasting.

I think both Catherine and I are going to mostly post things along the lines of:
*Books
*Fandoms
*Celebrities
*Self help
*Current events
and other things of that sort.  That includes book/movie reviews and some other fun things that have not been discussed yet I guess.

I guess we'll end our posts with our names, but I think you'll soon be able to tell who is who just by our writing. Okay, I do hope you like our blog and don't be afraid to comment some things you would like to see us talk about! Okay, bye for now!
